Wearstler has always said lighting is everything. It sets the mood of a room and tells you how to feel in it before you notice anything else. That belief is simply how she designs. Visual Comfort gave that belief somewhere to scale. Founded in Houston in 1987 on the idea that decorative lighting is part of the design itself, the company has spent decades building the manufacturing precision to take a designer's sculptural idea and produce it reliably, at real range. Since 2018, that's exactly what Wearstler has used it for.

The Partnership

For Wearstler, how a fixture looks and how it shapes a room are the same question: the shadow it throws, the warmth of the glow, the way a space changes the moment it comes on. A beautiful silhouette has to do all of that. She wanted a partner who could deliver both at once, and Visual Comfort's manufacturing scale makes that possible: sketch, model, render to scale, then hand it to craftsmen who can build it right at volume. It is also why this is her longest-running partnership: eight years of work, and a new set of forms each time.

Kelly's Lighting

The range runs the full distance — dramatic chandeliers at one end, sleek sconces at the other, pendants and flush mounts in between — all built on Wearstler's habit of mixing raw and refined materials in the same fixture. Beyond the retail collections, she and Visual Comfort still collaborate on custom lighting for her residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. Together, Wearstler and Visual Comfort make more than a lamp. They set the mood of a room, and every collection sets it a little differently.
