A stained-glass portal by Judson Studios leads guests into Caldo Verde, the ground-floor restaurant at Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel. Contemporary pieces sit among vintage finds, punctuated by plants from Inner Gardens. Sconces were commissioned to hold their own against the hanging Akari Light Sculptures by Isamu Noguchi.
At the bar, ebonized ribbed wood, copper and vintage granite stone frame a hand-plastered wall and antiqued mirror. Checkerboard tiles in cocoa and sandstone, patterned with ornamental metallic glaze, run across its face.
