Preserving the architectural integrity of the home, the wooden wall paneling was retained while each space was imbued with a fresh new spirit through an eclectic mix of Californian and European midcentury pieces. In the entryway, a bronze and leather bench by Chuck Moffit is paired with a chunky, blackened-wood console from the LA studio Base 10 while a 1980s green marble table by Mario Bellini serves as the focal point in the office. A curation of textured artwork encompasses an assortment of low-slung seating in parallel with vintage tessellated tables made of tortoise shell in the family room. |
Working with landscape designer Art Luna and local nursery Inner Gardens, Wearstler introduced lush tropical foliage in and around the building, effortlessly blurring the boundaries between interiors and outdoors. In the solarium-turned-dining room, a Noguchi globe casts a warm glow over locally foraged plant-life housed in a mix of early California and contemporary vessels at varying heights. |
